EUGENE, OR - The Bellingham Blazers stole game one away from the Eugene Generals 4-3 in overtime of the semifinal round in the Northern Pacific Hockey League’s (NORPAC) playoffs Tuesday night.

The Generals got the board first in the first period, but the Blazers answered right away to tie it at one.

Bellingham then got a power play goal to take a 2-1 lead.  Eugene knotted it at 2-2 when Zak Johnson deposited the puck into the net off a rebound.  Joshua Arnold flung the puck toward the goal and Johnson batted it out of the air for the goal.

The teams traded goals in the second period as well.  The Blazers took advantage of a game misconduct call on Connor Bambico.  On the five minute penalty, Cody Rich found the back of the net on a one-time to make it 3-2 Bellinham.

Less than a minute later, Arnold got a break away and scored short-handed to tie the game at 3-3.

Neither team scored in the third period.  The Blazers did in the OT session to come away with a 4-3 win.  Bellingham leads the series 1-0 in the best of five.

Game two is Wednesday at Lane Events Center Ice at 6:35.
