EUGENE, Ore. - Sports, then music. The Eugene 08 Festival continues the formula which allows spectators without tickets to watch the action live on the big screen just feet from Hayward Field -- then invites them to stick around into the evening for free entertainment. SUNDAY MUSIC

The day's competition concludes with one of the top events: the men's 100 meter dash. It promises to be a blazing display of speed: Tyson Gay set a new American record Saturday in the semifinals. READ THE STORY

Of interest to Eugene residents: Ashton Eaton, the NCAA champ in the decathlon from the University of Oregon, and Tom Pappas, a former Lane Community College athletew who set a new Hayward Field record Sunday morning in the decathlon shot put. Both men compete in the decathlon events Sunday and Monday.
