Decathletes compete today
Tom Pappas, a former LCC athlete, and Ashton Eaton from the University of Oregon are hometown favorites in the decathlon.

TONIGHT AT 8:35 p.m. Tom Pappas, a Lane Community College graduate, and Ashton Eaton, the NCAA decathlon champion from the University of Oregon, compete in the final event of the men's decathlon: the 1,500 meters. Pappas was third and Eaton fifth after the first day of competition Sunday, and the decathlon resumes Monday at 11:30 a.m. with the hurdles, discus, pole vault and javelin. EATON PROFILE | STANDINGS
