EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Sanya Richards, Mary Wineberg and Dee Dee Trotter have qualified for the U.S. Olympic team in the women's 400-meter dash.

Richards, who won gold on the 1,600 relay team in 2004, finished first at the Olympic trials Thursday in a time of 49.89.

Wineberg finished second to make her first Olympic team.

Trotter, who won the national championship last year while Richards was struggling with health issues, overcame a recent knee injury to earn the final spot.
