EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Joanne Dow won the 20K race walk Sunday at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials, earning a spot in the Beijing Olympics.

The 44-year-old Dow finished in one hour, 35 minutes and 11 seconds. Although she does not have the Olympic qualifying standard of 1:33, she made the team as the top finisher with the secondary "B'' qualifying standard.

Second-place finisher Teresa Vaill, who holds the American record, and third-place finisher Susan Armenta also did not have the qualifying standard and did not make the team.
