EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- Ian Waltz, Michael Robertson and Casey Malone have won the top three discus spots at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials, earning a trip to the Beijing Games.

Waltz, a 2004 Olympian and two-time U.S. champion, won the event with a throw of 216 feet, one inch (65.87 meters).

Robertson, the U.S. outdoor champion last year, threw 209-01 (63.73). Casey Malone, making his second trip to the Olympics, threw 205-07 (62.67) to finish third.
