Free fun at Track Town Plaza

The free Track Town Plaza will be located behind the west grandstands at Hayward Field. Attendance to the Plaza is free.

Events are free to the public, even if you don't attend the track meet.

Live music Friday and Saturday

Friday, June 26: The Phil Bowermans will play at the Track Town Plaza stage at 8:30 p.m. and play until 9:45. The Phil Bowermans is a collection of NIKE employees and some pro musicians. The name honors Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman. They have two electric guitars, bass, drums, sax, organ and two other keyboards along with vocals. A big, full, fun sound.

Saturday, June 27: The Konkies play from 7:30 to 8:45. They are a large band with a lively sound.

The Starting Block/Track Fan activities will be available:

  • Thursday, June 25 3:30 - 8 p.m
  • Friday, June 26 2:30 - 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 27 1:30 - 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 28 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Win With Integrity featuring USA Track and Field athletes will be held:

  • Thursday, June 25 1-3 p.m.
  • Friday, June 26 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

Starting Block and Track Fan activities presented during the National Championships meet will include free mini track events, interative games, and button-making for a favorite athlete.

FREE activities include:

  • Make your favorite athlete button
  • Tech Zone
  • Jumping Zone (Vertical/ High Jump)
  • 50 Meter Races
  • Track Circuit
  • Hurdles
  • Prizes, Photos

As part of the Win With Integrity program, USA Track and Field athletes will visit the Starting Block during the Championships, engaging youth in conversation about good sportmanships, choosing a healthy lifestyle and avoiding drugs. The athletes will be available for autographs, too.
