EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Reigning world champion Christian Taylor won the triple jump at the U.S. track trials on Saturday with a leap of 57 feet, 10 ¼ inches for a place on the Olympic team.

Former Florida teammate Will Claye, who finished third at the world championships last year, also earned a spot on the team as the runner-up at 57-7.

Walter Davis finished third with a jump of 54-9 1/4, but fell short of the Olympic "A'' standard of 56-5 1/4 needed to compete in the London Games.
