Beavs blow lead and lose to UW, 59-52
For the fourth straight year, the Beaver men are one and done at the Pac-10 Tournament at Staples Center. Losing to Washington 59-52.
The Huskies beat OSU all three times this season.
The Dawgs will now play Arizona State Friday at 8:30 in the Conference semifinals.
Oregon State had a 31-22 lead at halftime, then UW went on a 20-2 second half run to finish off the Beavers.
Roeland Schaftenaar paced the Beavs in defeit with 17 points. Freshman Jared Cunningham added 15.
The 2009 CBI Champions finish the season 14-17 overall.
Next season, the Beavs will be without seniors Roeland Schaftenaar, Seth Tarver, Josh Tarver and Calvin Hampton.
Washington (22-9), trailed 35-23 with 16½ minutes to play before making a 23-4 run over the next eight minutes, playing with all the passion that this underachieving team lacked in the first half.
Washington will face Stanford in Friday's semifinals as the only non-California school left in the tournament.
