Wil-Hi football at a crossroads

The Willamette High School football program is at a crossroads.
New head coach Adam Kennybrew and the Wolverines have just 37 usable helmets for roughly 120 kids, putting games this fall in jeopardy.
Now between a rock and a hard place, Kennybrew and friends of Wil-Hi football have rolled out the "Sponsor A Helmet" campaign, which they hope will help renew the helmet supply for the next 10 years.
In years past, students had the option of purchasing their own helmet, but that left many on the sideline due to the cost. It has also left the program with a limited number of usable helmets with the season right around the corner.
Willamette now hopes to acquire 100 new helmets before the 2013 campaign begins in September.
