Not a good day at the Winchester Bay boat launch. Around 10 a.m. today, as man was launching his boat, the truck and boat ended up submerged in the water. I did not speak to the owner. The truck remained underwater for several hours until a scubadiver could assist. The scubadiver hooked the Mast Brothers Towing tow line to the submerged truck and boat trailer. By 2:30 p.m. the boat and trailer were towed out of the water. The boat had also been under water awhile, but the owner cut the tie straps to free it. Local Coast Guard and a Sheriff's Deputy stood by during the incident. There didn't appear to be any gas or oil in the water. But of course the vehicle and contents most likely are a total loss after being submerged in salt water for most of the day.
