A second alarm fire was reported about 1100 hours this morning in Corvallis. The second alarm was called as first units arrived on scene in the 2100 block of Northwest Highland Drive. Units from Corvallis, Albany, Monroe, and Philomath were sent to the fire.
It appeared that a fire started on the rear of the building and traveled up the side into the attic. A small propane barbecue was seen at the base of the fire.
The fire was brought under control in about an hour.
