This morning I woke up to a whole flock of flamingos that had chosen my yard to congregate in. Behind the flamingos was one sign with brochures in it that explained why the flamingos had chosen my yard, as if I didn't already know. These are not just any flamingos, these are Dive for a Cure flamingos. Until September 25th when they reach their final destination of Woahink lake, the flamingos will be making their rounds through the greater Eugene area and into the yards of many Eugene Dive Club members. They show up in the middle of the night at no charge, but it takes a 25$ donation to get them out of your yard. All proceeds from money raised from Dive for a Cure are donated to the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute for breast cancer research and education. Oregon Health Sciences University is a tax-deductible non-profit IRS 501(C) (3) organization. You can help personally by participation or a generous pledge to Dive for a Cure.
If you would like to donate money to the cause, please visit the website at www.diveforacure.org or just walk in to Eugene Skin Diver's Supply and let them know.
