TO KVAL NEWS PRODUCER...
PLEASE! Do not leave out of your newscasts on KVAL & FOX@10 that there are also warming centers open in the rural communities of Cottage Grove and Veneta.
In Cottage Grove, the First Presbyterian Church at 216 South Third Street is open from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for individuals needing shelter from the subfreezing temperatures as long as lows are 29 degrees or below. We only had one person show up last night, so we need your help to get the word out.
The Beds for Freezing Nights Coalition, is one of Cottage Grove's newest non-profits that has trained volunteers ready to serve the least fortunate among us who want to come in from the cold.
Additional info is available at www.freezingnights.com or by calling 541-232-0934.
We would welcome a visit by a news crew this weekend!
Thank you,
Cindy Weeldreyer
