Officers await answer at the door of residence

Springfield Police

At approximately 11.00 a.m. on March 3rd, Springfield PD surrounded the duplex at 1538 11th Street with weapons drawn. After repeatedly knocking on the door, a K9 officer released his dog into the rental home. All officers quickly filed in behind the dog, entering the residence. Within minutes, police left the duplex with a suspect in custody. Afterward, an officer was seen going through bags and other belongings on the porch, possibly as part of a search warrant.
