Hi there, my name is Patti and I am living with my folks in a 1908 Garden Valley farmhouse that my great grandparents, Peter and Carrie Sinclair built. Without the spectacular spring show of colors this cheerful yellow and white dormered home brings forth a formidable landmark all by itself. Afterall, it has been sitting upon a hill for over 100 years. This time of year the yards are brilliant with spring colors. I wish "Granny" could see this place. She would be so pleased and proud to see what Dad has done to preserve these little jewels. Dad does not cut any of the yards until these miniature beauties all go to seed. We are lucky to have this priceless presentation of nature at it's best for another 2-3 weeks. It's a labor of love on my Dad's part because once they've gone to seed then cutting the grass is quite a chore. Because by this time the grass can get as high as the tractor! But every year he respectfully allows mother nature to show off her yellows, lavenders, blues, white cherry blossoms, and dainty english daisies and Oh Yes the "fritillaries" that we spotted this year. We found at least 4 of these unusual fritillarie plants. Mom and I plan to search for more. What a fun treasure hunt this has been. Better yet, it's because I have gotten to experience this season once again with Mom and Dad.
