I went out today to feed my chickens.....turned around and seen this guy standing there about two yards away from me....I realized that it had followed my two escaped hens to the feed...
it didn't fly away or get scared...it just hung out with the chickens....so, long story short...I wanna know what kind of bird it is..is it a chicken or a grouse? if it is a grouse why is it so tame?...

My guess would be a male juvenile Blue Grouse.

I'm going to agree with Ron that it's a grouse. A grouse hen, probably, due to the subdued coloring of plumage.

Looks like a grouse to me. The food would definitely attract it and as for the chickens probably just seeking company in the absence of one of its own kind, Very similar to the moose that associated with a cow, or the deer that associated with a duck
