Abby has lost alot of freedom since she started having seizures six years ago. And although she looks fourteen, she's 29 years old.
A few weeks ago she was walking home after work about 9pm. We talked on our cell phones most of her walk. She'd tell me where she was as she went so if she had a seizure I'd know where to get her.
We hung up when she was three blocks from home. The seconds passed, then the minutes. Finally I called her. She answered the phone, groggy. "Where are you?" I asked. She said she was in the Emergency Room. As soon as we hung up, she'd had a seizure.
We want to thank whoever it was that called 911. And there should be more Community awareness on Epilepsy.
