On a most personal note, Thank You, Governor Hatfield, for your kindness to a single parent, widowed Mother and her freckled-faced, skinny-as-a-split-rail, 13 year old son in the Summer of 1965. Without your intervention I would not be what I am today: A very grateful Oregonian! Thank You, and may you always Rest In Peace here in God's Country, OREGON!!!
