Eugene's inaugural triathlon brought hundreds of veteran and first time three-sport athletes to Fern Ridge early Sunday morning.
The sunrise was stunning at Richardson Park.
Kelly Koopmans and Jennifer Winters decided to do a relay of the short course. Jennifer swam 500 meters, Kelly rode through hills west of Eugene for 24 miles, then Jennifer ran a 5K around Fern Ridge Reservoir.
We had a blast! And guess what we came in second place! Ok, there were only 4 short course relay teams, but we are still proud to have participated.
Congrats to all the athletes- and thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and organizers who cheered us on. We couldn't have done it without you!
