Hello, my name is Randi-Rae Barrett. I am wanting to share my parents awesome story and adventure re-opening the Dexter Lake Club. Established in 1949, it's an extremely well-known roadhouse to the locals from Eugene to Oakridge, and nation wide from being in scenes of the movie Animal House. Both my parents raised in Eugene, moved to Washington for 15 years, and now they've returned to combine both their dreams into one.
My mother, Shannon Stewart, after working in the industry since she's been old enough to, has always dreamt of having her own restaurant. And my father, Gregg Stewart has awesome ties to this club being a musician. He played his first paid gig at the Dexter Lake Club when he was 13 years old in 1977, the same year Animal House was filmed at the club. My dad has written a much more detailed story on their Facebook page (Dexter Lake Club), if you'd like to check that out.
Both of them along with so many close family and friends all over Oregon and Washington have been cleaning, remodeling, painting and are excited to light up that iconic sign once again! It's been a labor of love for everyone involved.
Thank you so much for you time. Please feel to contact myself and/or my dad, I'll leave his information below. We're so excited for this new adventure!
