Lane Community College will host the annual World T'ai Chi & Qigong Day celebration in the southern Willamette Valley on Saturday, April 26th from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. This free, family friendly event aims to introduce participants to the health and fitness benefits of T'ai Chi. The practice is believed to boost the immune system, slow the aging process, lower blood pressure, and to reduce anxiety and depression.
Several local instructors will demonstrate various T'ai Chi styles and lead low-impact group participation sessions, in unison with other T'ai Chi practitioners around the world. There will also be demonstrations of other eastern martial arts and dance, including Kung Fu and T'ai Chi Sword sparring.
If you're curious about Tai Chi, looking to learn a great way to stay fit, or just looking for an afternoon of fun for the family this event may be for you!
