This was taken at the summit of the old McKenzie pass. Even in the bleakness of the dead trees and lava fields I think there is still beauty. The dimness of the photo is due to overcast skies and smoke from forest fires. Mike

Beautiful and sad...all that smoke from fires we can't seem to get contained before the whips them back up again! Thanks for sharing, Mike! I love your photography!

Hi Kim. Thank again for your kind comments. If you have not been to this location, it is really worth the trip. Only about an hour and a half drive from Springfield up hiway 126 then up the old McKenzie hiway 242.

This is just fabulous...seriously, this isn't dim at all! You do such a great job capturing these scenes and is one of my big favorites so far.....thank you Mike! :)
