I've lived in the Valley (Lane County), most of my life (guess I'm an old guy now at 50), but have NEVER seen snow last this long, which of course is due to the cold that has stayed with us. The snow clouds that came through about a week ago left about 7 inches here in West Eugene, and even after some of it has melted and degraded, it is still like crisp, fresh powder where it has been untouched by foot or vehicle. This picture of a late '20s early '30s era Ford wheel and milk bottles was taken at my Dad's house. Reminds me of my childhood, visiting my grandpa's old house (circa 1900s) in Keizer, Ore., complete with glass doorknobs, a narrow staircase up into the attic, secret hiding places, spooky nooks and crannies throughout the house, and untold adventures outside in the large back yard. Grandma even still used an old Wringer Washer down in the basement.
