Rare Color for Mallard

Saw this Mallard while walking along the river this past weekend. Was spotted in a large pond, color along caught my eye. Don't know anything as to why it is this color, was the only one.

You're very welcome, Steven. There's a Cayuga duck and a hybrid from it at Mingus Park in Coos Bay. I've never gotten the colors to pop like you did with your photo. Nice shot!!

My second attempt to comment: This appears to be a Cayuga Duck. Google that term to see other images and the history/background of this duck variety.
