Fin Whale at Heceta Beach

A fin whale was spotted in the shallow waters off of Florence on Friday. A couple days later on Monday the same whale washed ashore a few miles north. Marine biologists said the young whale was significantly underweight and malnourished. He may have had a disease. This whale weighed about 50 tons. Fin Whales are second in size only to Blue Whales.
