We found this while hunting up the South Umpqua River in 1997. it was down a long narrow winding road and was growing at the end of a rotting log. not real sure what it is. maybe some type of mushroom ? It was over 2 feet across and looked like a huge Cauliflower

that is a mushroom called a cauliflower. not a real easy one to find
