The Riley property was owned by the Riley family. They also had property on the East side of Hwy 101. While the last living heir lived in California, she left the property for use of the Coos County Sheriff's Mounted Posse for training, etc.

I was the caretaker for Riley Ranch for several years. My memories of the property are always with me. The comely tall pines waiving 'hello' with the breeze, and Butterfield Lake in the morning mirroring forest and sky. The smell of forest. Beauty!
