Poet On a Corner

Poet On a Corner

Is this poet really down on his luck in Eugene? I didn’t give him a buck but I said a prayer for him. For I hope that some day he will find a better way to earn a living than begging for it on a corner. There are way too many of these beggars on West 11 ST. in Eugene. There has to be some way to help them other than giving them money that is not tax deducible and they don’t pay taxes on what they make from panhandling.

I so agree with jesuslover! I tell my grandchildren every chance I get to be aware of all of the angels around us,and that giving can include a kind word and a smile. It hurts my soul to see a homeless person , someone out there needs to love them.

Those street parasites have chosen their fate as we all have .. but I still would rather give to them then to pay taxes to boslter a self righteous society based on greed and excess

I'm reminded of this Scripture that Jesus the Christ told His disciples. "For whatever you have done to the Least of these, My brethren, you have done unto ME." - Matthew 25:30-46 You never know when you will entertain Angels, unaware.

all of those things have happened to me! in the last year, in fact!... but through hard work and being able to sustain personal relationships, i've never lacked a place to stay and i've never had to beg.

@cienfuegos nice to see you're a compassionate and caring individual *hope* nothing bad happens to you like job loss, foreclosure, unexpected illness etc etc wouldn't want to see you on that corner also.

Huh. You must be my neighbor. I have immense contempt for these street urchins. I work a lame job outside my field of training and education in order to have a roof over my head. They can, too. I can't stand the w. 11th pandhandlers!!!!
