Young 13 year old Ricky Perry made it known he was not to be taken lightly on the race track. In his very first race in a full size car, he not only set fast time, won his heat race, and won his main event; he was second fastest out of 33 cars that included three classes...two of which were adult classes. His qualifying time was a quick 20.70 on the 3/8 mile track in Roseburg, Oregon. A time that was beat by only one person by a mere one hundredths of a second. Ricky won both of his races from starting at the very tail end of the field and leading by the end of the first lap and never looked back.
