On the evening of June 12th, a number of diners at the popular North Bank restaurant in Eugene tried to rescue 3 baby kittens that are living right next to the restaurant, by the river. The mother is begging for food from people eating on the outdoor deck.
Attempts were made to capture two of the kittens, that were hiding in the St John's Wort that surrounds North Bank Restaurant. A third was hiding in thick cover by the river. Unfortunately, despite all efforts by several ladies that were present, none of the cats could be caught.
The odds of the kittens surviving long in the wild are poor. And the longer they stay wild, the more difficult it will be for them to ever be adopted by someone.
The kittens are all a beautiful gray color, just like their lovely mother. Are all of these cats sadly destined to die?
The mother has been living next to the restaurant for several months, and continues to have more kittens.
