As storm approaches, you can see water 'bounce back' off of the field to the left, that is how hard the rain was falling (oddly enough, there was NO hail during this storm).

Peoria Tornado, witness to it's birth...

Was driving SB on I-5 from Portland to Eugene on June 4th, and saw some really dark clouds that were to the South/SE of me, I first noticed them just south of the overpass for the highway to Brownsville & Corvallis. about 10 minutes later I first saw the formation of the wall cloud and called KVAL to report it. The storm rapidly got worse, and I could see a "wall" of water coming across the fields on the other side of I-5 (pic 1), then I got a picture of the wall cloud (pic 2), after driving south a mile or two, I stopped called KVAL with more information about the wall cloud and the fact that there was some 'rotation' being seen at the base of the wall cloud (pic 3). It was at about this time that that rain wall hit, so I got back in my van and rode out the heart of the storm. I don't know if I was it by the tornado itself, but my van got bounced around pretty hard, and it was fully loaded. The rain was hittingthe windows hard fromall directions so badly that I could hardly even see the brake lights of vehicles trying to slow down and/or stop on the side of I-5. When I got back to Eugene, I took my film (Yes, I still use a 35mm FILM camera...), got it developed and also loaded onto a CD, which I emailed the best of the images to the KVAL News Ro0om and Joe Raineri, who used them on the early morning news broadcasts on 6/5//09.
