Ridgeline Montessori Charter School students gathered at Greenhill Humane Society Thursday afternoon to present a check in the amount of $378.47, money the students raised from their class performance of “A Midsummer's Night Dream” along with spaghetti dinner for friends and families. After fundraising throughout the school year for their end-of-the-year trip, the students of Room 19 decided to give back to the community, designating Greenhill Human Society as the recipient of their hard work. The student-organized event was supported by contributions from Sundance Natural Foods, Trader Joe's, and Market of Choice. The gathering at Greenhill of the 4th-6th grade students, their parents and teachers was a bittersweet event in the wake of the fire that claimed their school building on Wednesday morning. In attendance were student representatives Stella Rose Wilson-Hamaker, Alexander Robert McQuaid, Jacob Friedman, Griffin Allensis, Chaya Rosemarin, Aaron Sierralupe, Owen Pedron, Emma Strgar, Evan Aldridge, Claire Hewett, Aria Allensis, Shoshana Rosemarin, Noah Friedman, Naomi Friedman, Hayden Allensis; parents Cynthia Friedman, Andrea Allensis, Karen Hewett, Sue Sierralupe, Amy and Jamison Aldridge, Claudia Patton; teachers Bonnie Niemann and Emily Kintigh; and Greenhill Operations Manager Rhonda Livesay.
