new stop sign

what train?

Newly added stop sign on tracks at Alpine cutoff road and highway 99W. Hasn't been a train here in over 20 years. No other stop sign on tracks between Monroe and Corvallis that I'm aware of, not even the crossing where the train was hit by a logging truck in 1990. If not for safety then this wasted expense must be for added revenue generated by the tickets it will bring in.

Not true, the Willamette & Pacific (Now Portland & Western) operated trains down to the Hull-Oakes lumber mill thru late 2007 when they abandoned the line due to poor track conditions.
