While playing at the beach in Yachats, we returned from a walk to find a Heron standing in the pools next to where we were sitting. Our large family, big dog included, respected the birds space and in returned the bird stayed and watched us play. The heron fished and hung out with us until some boys came from up the beach and scared it away. My 3 year old daughter was fascinated by the bird and says it was the best part of our vacation.
