Douglas County has gone all out for this year's Fire Prevention week. The 3 day event which is hosted by Home Depot in Roseburg has been a big hit with school kids and adults alike. Kids from all over the county have been treated to hands-on educational events in Fire Prevention. Each child receives a red backpack & water bottle as they enter the show. Fire Science Students from Umpqua Community College have been guiding groups of kids through the different booths and demonstrations. One of the most exciting events has been the arrival and take-off of the Flight Life helicopter.
County-wide fire departments have participated by bringing different types of fire trucks. Fire personnel are on hand to answer question and demonstrate how equipment works. So many organizations have come together to make this a very special event. If your in the area you should take the time to visit!
