This sweet little cat was found under a neighbor's porch, along with his siblings, making a litter of eight. Only five of the newborn kittens made it without their mother. One of the young children in the house heard their tiny voices and found them.
He and his family kept two of them and gave this kitten and two of his sisters to my aunt, their next door neighbor.
The first time we saw him, we fell in love with his happy-go-lucky attitude. My aunt was keeping good care of them and the mother, who was found later. Since he was the only male kitten, we nick-named him "Tom", and named his sisters after a neighbor girl's favorite flowers; Lily and Lilac.
As soon as Tom was old enough, we adopted him, and as you can see in the pictures, he made himself very comfortable, and everyone grew a special bond to him.
He even made very good friends with a dwarf-rex we took in, even if they did almost scare the daylights out of each other at first. Because of their friendship, Tom will do a "binky jump" when he plays with the rabbit once in a while.
It's hard to believe that he was living under a porch almost one year ago before we took him in. Now he's a sweet little coon-cat, roaming the backyard, sleeping at the foot of the bed, and trying to catch the squirrels. He really is a lucky cat.
